Turkuaz is big in Japan–or at least big enough to inspire music students at Kwansei Gakuin University in Hyogo–where members of the private music conservatory recently delivered an impressive tribute performance to the American power-funk band.

In a video discovered and shared by Turkuaz on Friday, a tribute band known as Burkuhaz performed five Turkuaz tunes during a show at Nar Culture Hall back on December 1st last year.

A pro-shot video of the performance showcases the band’s takes on Turkuaz’s “Percy Thrills, the Moondog”, “Club Foot”, “Tiptoe Through the Crypto”, “Future 86”, and “Monkey Fingers”. Burkuhaz doesn’t dress in the rainbow-inspired costumes which the band was formerly known, but they do lay down the funk with the horn and guitar-fueled energy just like the originals.
