The String Cheese Incident wrapped its six-part Rig Vids series on Wednesday with a tour of Jason Hann‘s office. Since launching just over a year ago, the genre-fluid band has taken fans on tours of rigs from bassist Keith Moseley, drummer Michael Travis, guitarists Bill Nershi and Michael Kang, and keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth.

For the final Rig Vids video, viewers are shown the expansive percussion setup of “the new guy” Jason Hann. An internationally seasoned percussionist who has recorded in-studio with everyone from Dr. Dre to Isaac Hayes, Hann has an expansive vocabulary of musical instruments. From congas and bongos to washboards and iPads, everything in the seemingly crowded space serves its own purpose.

What is even more fascinating than simply learning the names and functions of each instrument is the brief demonstrations Hann gives for each piece. Beyond that, he shows how two instruments from opposite sides of the world can come together to make a unique musical experiment. It’s also not all business back there in HannWorld, as the musician keeps miniature R2-D2 and Black Panther figurines on his rig “for inspiration.” While it may seem a bit overwhelming, Hann maintains that “everything is to help the groove along.”
