Jason Isbell gave a nod to Neil Young during the finale of his two-night stand at the Louisville Palace Theatre on Saturday. The show, which also closed the Eastern leg of Isbell’s 2022 winter tour, saw Jason and the 400 Unit bust out “Like A Hurricane” for the first time since 2018.

Isbell and company, including his wife and fiddle player Amanda Shires, kicked off the show with the Reunions track “What’ve I Done to Help”. The singer-songwriter would borrow heavily from his 2020 LP—his most recent of original material—throughout the evening with “Overseas”, “Only Children”, and “It Gets Easier”.

The ensemble also highlighted its recent collection of Peach State covers, Georgia Blue, including “Honeysuckle Blue” from Drivin’ N’ Cryin’, the former outfit of 400 Unit guitarist Sadler Vaden. The band also touched on Cat Power‘s “Cross Bones Style” and a double-dose of R.E.M. with “Nightswimming” and “Driver 8” before “Cover Me Up” closed the main set.

Isbell brought out opener Adia Victoria to begin the encore with Precious Bryant‘s “The Truth”. Though the following dip into Jason’s Drive-By Truckers tenure with “Decoration Day” may have felt like the big finish, after Isbell and Shires traded roaring solos the band segued seamlessly into Neil Young’s “Like A Hurricane”. This marked Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit’s first performance of the Decade track since October 27th, 2018 per Setlist.fm. Neil Young has dominated headlines recently for pulling his music from Spotify in response to the platform’s dissemination of the Joe Rogan Experience, which the singer-songwriter accused of spreading misinformation about COVID-19.

Watch Jason Isbell And The 400 Unit cover Neil Young’s “Like A Hurricane”. The band will resurface on February 22nd at The Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. For tickets and a full list of tour dates click here.
