On July 26th, Jazz Is Phsh is headed to Vermont, for a special performance at the iconic Burlington venue Higher Ground. Jazz Is Phsh’s headlining performance will serve as a kick-off party for Twiddle‘s Tumble Down Festival, which will return to the beautiful shores of Lake Champlain at Waterfront Park on July 27th and 28th. The show will also function as an afterparty for Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band and Midnight North‘s July 26th performance at Waterfront Park.

For those unfamiliar, Jazz Is Phsh is an all-star jazz tribute to Phish, conceptualized and fronted by brothers Adam and Matt Chase. The band has become a staple tribute act to the beloved Vermont quartet, reimagining classic Phish tunes in an jazzy, instrumental way while keeping each song’s original spirit grounded in improvisation at the forefront. For the ensemble’s upcoming performance at Higher Ground, the Chase Brothers will be joined by Chris Bullock (Snarky Puppy), Dave Grippo (The Giant Country Horns), Felix Pastorius (Jeff Coffin, Mike Clark), and Josh Dobbs (Dead Set), in addition to special guest, Twiddle keyboardist Ryan Dempsey.

As Adam Chase told Live For Live Music,

We are looking forward to bringing our interpretations of Phish to where Phish got their start. To have Dave “The Truth” Grippo joining us is very special since Dave was a part of Phish’s touring horn section in the 90’s, The Giant Country Horns. Early in Phish’s career, Dave worked with Phish and helped them hone in their jazz chops, guiding the band through jazz standards like “Caravan”, “Take The A Train”, and “Donna Lee”. As the kickoff for Tumble Down, it is fitting that we will have Twiddle’s Ryan Dempsey joining us on a few tunes as a special guest. We will also have some heavy hitters with Snarky Puppy’s Chris Bullock on tenor saxophone and bass legend, Felix Pastorius, on the bass guitar. Can’t wait to dive in!

Don’t miss out when the group rolls through Burlington, Vermont, on July 26th for a special Phil Lesh late-night show and Tumble Down kick-off party! You can purchase tickets to the show here, and for more information and upcoming shows, head to Jazz Is Phsh’s website here.
