Aaron Johnston’s J.E.D.I. project has passed the halfway mark of its current bi-weekly residency at New York City’s Nublu 151. For the next installment on Tuesday, August 13th, Johnston will be joined by Dopapod keyboardist Eli Winderman, bassist Andy Hess, and guitarist Sasha Brown (purchase tickets here).
The club down in the East Village is one of the few remaining NYC spots with that old-school feel, and has become a spot for true music heads to gather and see some of the best experimental music happening today.
Over the course of the residency, J.E.D.I. has been joined by the likes of Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner of The Disco Biscuits, TAUK’s Matt Jalbert and Alric Carter, HOLA!’s Avi Bortnick, Groove Collective’s Jonathan Maron, and David Bowie keyboardist Jason Lindner.
It was also just announced that J.E.D.I. will play a special VIP set at this year’s LOCKN’, which will see Johnston joined by Brownstein, Magner, and DJ Logic.
Tickets for next Tuesday, August 13th are currently on-sale and can be purchased here. For event updates and additional information, join the Facebook Event page.
J.E.D.I. has also released three singles via Color Red Studios in Colorado, including the most recent single “Momento” featuring Dominic Lalli (Big Gigantic), Borahm Lee (Break Science / Pretty Lights Live), and Josh Fairman (SunSquabi / Analog Son).
