Members Of SCI, Old & In The Way, CATS, More Celebrate Jerry Garcia's Birthday At Cervantes' [Photos/Videos]

An all-star contingent of musicians gathered at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver on Sunday to celebrate the birthday of Jerry Garcia. Among the who’s who of musicians were members of The String Cheese Incident, Old & In The Way, Circles Around The Sun, The Motet, Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band, Leftover Salmon, and more. The concert served as a kickoff for this year’s Daze Between celebration presented by Rex Foundation and The Jerry Garcia Family.

The full lineup hosted Bill Nershi (The String Cheese Incident), Peter Rowan (Old & In The Way), Ross James (Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band), Adam MacDougall (Circles Around The Sun), Mark Levy (Circles Around The Sun), Andy Thorn (Leftover Salmon), Garrett Sayers (The Motet), and Elliott Peck (Midnight North).

This year’s hybrid Daze Between celebration sees a significant expansion from the 2020 digital debut of the event. Celebrating the days between Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia’s birthday on August 1st, 1942 and his death on August 9th, 1995, Rex Foundation and The Jerry Garcia Family have organized live and digital events from coast to coast.

The pinnacle of Daze Between 2021 comes on August 8th at New Haven, CT’s Westville Music Bowl. The day-long concert features a star-studded lineup of Warren Haynes and Grace Potter (who will both perform together and separately), a special “Lettuce Celebrates Jerry Garcia Band” set, a Keller Williams’ Grateful Grass show, and more special guests still to be announced.
