Mike Vallely, the pro-skateboarder, launched his Street Plant skateboard company in 2015. Today, Street Plant has released its second Jerry Garcia-inspired skateboard deck, following up its Wolf Guitar-themed skateboard earlier in the year, which served as the first-ever skateboard officially sanctioned by the Jerry Garcia estate.

For this new release, the company continues to draw inspiration from Jerry Garcia’s famed guitars, adding a skateboard inspired by Garcia’s “Tiger” guitar, which the Grateful Dead guitarist used as his main instrument of choice between 1979 and 1989. Street Plant is releasing two Tiger-inspired decks: a 9.25″ old-school version as well as a 8.5″ popsicle edition. In addition to these two Deadhead-friendly decks, the company is continuing to sell its Garcia Glue Footed Griptape, which features Garcia’s now iconic four-fingered handprint.

As Mike Vallely explained in a statement on Street Plant’s website,

My Reverence for Jerry Garcia is without end. I find Wholeness, Harmony, Freedom, and Radiance in His Music, Filling me with Optimism, Love, and Hope. Our daily soundtrack here in Garageland is Infused with Garcia’s Songs, Inspiring the Best in us, and Encouraging us to continue to Move in the Direction of our Dreams.

Working with the Garcia Family via Street Plant to Present the First-Ever Jerry Garcia Skateboards and accessories is a True Honor, and it brings my Family and I Great Joy! Where Music and Skateboarding intersect, there is my Heart, and Jerry’s Music is Playing.
