This morning, Jim James announced two intimate concerts in Brooklyn, New York and Los Angeles, California. The My Morning Jacket frontman will perform his upcoming solo album, Uniform Distortion—due out June 28 via ATO Records—in its entirety with a full band on May 22 at Rough Trade NYC and on July 18 at Pico Union.

Following the release of Tribute To 2 in December of 2017—in which he played tribute to The Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, and more—Jim James’ upcoming album is all original tunes. Uniform Distortion—which got its name “because [Jim James] feels like there is this blanket distortion on society/media and the way we gather our ‘news’ and important information”—contains 11 tracks penned by Jim James and features Floating Action bassist Seth Kauffman and drummer Dave Givan, along with LA trio Dear Lemon Trees‘ Kathleen Grace, Jamie Drake, and Leslie Stevens on backing vocals. Read more about Uniform Distortion here, and listen to the first single, “Just A Fool”, below.

Tickets for both upcoming concerts, in which Jim James and his band will perform Uniform Distortion in its entirety, are on sale today at 12 p.m. ET here.

As Jim James’ website notes: “No cell phones, cameras or recording devices will be allowed at tomorrow’s Rough Trade NYC performance. Upon arrival, all phones and smart watches will be secured in Yondr pouches that will be unlocked at the end of the show. Guests maintain possession of their phones throughout the night, and if needed, may access them at designated Phone Use Areas in the lobby. All guests are encouraged to print their tickets in advance to ensure a smooth entry process. Anyone caught with a cellphone in the venue will be immediately ejected.” For more information, head to this website.
