Joe Russo’s Almost Dead has shared the latest edition of their ‘Taper’ series. This full-show recording comes from the fan-favorite Grateful Dead tribute act’s second of two recent performances at St. Louis, MO’s The Pageant on February 16th.
Highlights from the 2/16 St. Louis show included an exploratory “Eyes of the World” jam featuring a prominent Dave Dreiwitz bass solo, an excellent “The Wheel” featuring a Marco Benevento keyboard solo segment, a high-octane “China Cat Sunflower” > “I Know You Rider” first set closer, an “Easy Wind” complete with teases of Led Zeppelin‘s “What Is And What Should Never Be”, a jam out of “Mississippi Half Step” featuring traces of “Let It Grow”, a complete rendition of the “Terrapin” suite, and a set-closing “Morning Dew” infused with traces of “Terrapin”, a Tom Hamilton/Marco Benevento duo jam, and more.
