An all-star cast of musicians will celebrate the birthday of the late Joe Strummer (The Clash) with a livestream event benefiting #SaveOurStages, the ongoing campaign by the National Independent Venue Association seeking federal aid for venues on the brink of closure due to the ongoing pandemic. The event will stream for free on Friday, August 21st—what would have been Strummer’s 68th birthday—at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The streaming event will feature performances by Bob Weir (Grateful Dead), Bruce Springsteen, Dhani HarrisonDropkick MurphysHindsLucinda WilliamsTom MorelloJosh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), Josh Klinghoffer (formerly Red Hot Chili Peppers) and more, as well as some as yet unnamed “very special guests.” The event will also include the premiere of some never-before-seen Joe Strummer live footage.
