After kicking things off on Sunday night, John Mayer returned to The Forum on Tuesday for his second of three Sob Rock tour dates at the Inglewood, CA arena.

Following night one of the run, the guitarist/vocalist/bandleader hinted in an Instagram post that the setlists would vary over the course of the next two shows at the Forum. “Makes me think of the Grateful Dead lyric ‘we used to play for silver, now we play for life,'” he mused. “These shows are a celebration… see you tomorrow and Wednesday. Lots more songs to hit…”

Mayer and his decorated band made good on that promise at Tuesday’s show, shuffling the order of various songs and adding a number of selections not played on Sunday including “Clarity”, “Changing”, “Helpless”, “In Your Atmosphere”, “Stop This Train”, “Rosie”, “Carry Me Away”, “In The Blood”, and “Dear Marie”. Of particular note, the show featured a rare performance of “Assassin”, the Battle Studies track that has remained on the shelf for the 11-plus years since the end of his 2010 tour.
