The Songs of Their Own series, which is featured on Jambase, is a 50-day tribute series featuring a daily cover of a Grateful Dead original song from various artists. An exceptionally well done cover of “Stella Blue” by John Medeski and John Scofield (who have both played with Phil Lesh & Friends over the years) appeared on the site yesterday. The video series has been put together by world-class audio equipment manufacturer Telefunken.

The series will end on the final night of the 50th Anniversary Fare Thee Well shows, July 5th, with a Playing For Change Songs Around The World global performance rendition of “Ripple”, which will feature David Hidalgo of Los Lobos.
