Iconic singer-songwriter John Prine has postponed a series of upcoming performances due to a medical issue that was recently brought to his attention.
A post on Prine’s Instagram reads,
In consultation with his doctors, John has been advised that he has an elevated risk for a stroke. He will have surgery this week to insert a stent which will remedy the issue. He looks forward to a full and speedy recovery. Thank you for your support and understanding. – The Prine family and Oh Boy Records.
Prine and his team are currently working on rescheduling the affected dates and will share information regarding the affected dates as soon as possible. All original tickets will remain valid and those who would like a refund should contact the original point of purchase. Out of the eight effected dates, Prine has rescheduled his performance at Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre for September 18th, 2019 and his festival appearance at Edmonton, AB’s Edmonton Folk Festival for August 9th, 2020.
