Phish drummer Jon Fishman makes a notable cameo in a new short film exploring his longtime friend and rock musician J. Willis Pratt and one of his non-Phish side projects, hard-rock outfit We’re Bionic. The 30-minute film, which arrived earlier this month and is titled, When You Are Wild: A Day in the Life of J. Willis Pratt, is available for fans to stream on YouTube.

Fishman’s inclusion in We’re Bionic goes way back to the drummer’s time spent at Goddard College in Vermont, where he and Pratt operated within the same musical circles. Fishman and Pratt have remained closed over the years, and the drummer continues to perform with We’re Bionic on occasion when he’s not on tour with Phish.

When You Are Wild features plenty of new interviews, old photos, and pro-shot concert footage of Fishman with We’re Bionic, while also focusing on the June 2018 benefit show for Pratt who had been diagnosed with cancer at the time.

Phish recently rescheduled all 2020 summer tour dates to 2022 in hopes the global coronavirus pandemic will have run its course by then to allow the return of concerts.
