Last weekend, Jon Stickley Trio brought all their amazing talents to the stage at the Spirit Of The Suwannee‘s Americana-heavy Roots Revival Festival. Guitarist Jon Stickley, fiddler Lyndsay Pruett, and drummer Hunter Deacon combine to make music that leaps from genre to genre and shows a rare versatility that has to be seen to be believed.

Stickley is one of the finest flat picking guitarists of his generation and his ability to blend bluegrass, classical, jazz, and hardcore rock and roll is astounding to see and hear. The scariest thing about his talent is how far he has grown musically in just the last few years. There seems to be no ceiling to what he can accomplish with the help he has.

Fellow classicist/bluegrass hybrid Pruett wields her bow like a scalpel with lightning fast runs and sorrowful wail creating other-worldy effects and irresistible energy. Deacon does amazing work not only keeping a pocket under all this sonic mayhem he also fits in stellar fills and exclamation points to the band’s overall musical statements.

Check out the Suwannee Roots Revival clips from Jon Stickley Trio’s Friday set below from our own Rex-A-Vision. When you finish those, check out some of our other exclusive footage from the fest, including highlights from Del McCoury, Sam Bush and Keller & The Keels. Enjoy!
