Jorma Kaukonen is one of the select few artists still performing while nearly all of the concert industry remains on hiatus heading into the new year. The Hot Tuna guitarist was in Alexandria, VA on Wednesday for the second stop on his East Coast solo acoustic tour with a show at The Birchmere–which included a brief FaceTime with Kaukonen’s Hot Tuna bandmate Jack Casady from California.

The Virginia music venue is open for business but only selling shows at 40% capacity as per state health requirement, along with mandatory temperature checks upon entry and masks worn by fans at all times when they’re not seated at a designated table.

Kaukonen is only playing select cities throughout the winter as part of the tour, and his next show isn’t scheduled until February 8th at the Old School Square Center for the Arts in Delray Beach, FL. Head to Kaukonen’s website for tickets and tour info.
