Jam Cruise made its triumphant return to Miami, FL on Wednesday, January 25th, and along with it came the traditional post-Jam Cruise shows. The Motet and Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe wasted no time getting down for some funk at Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale, FL, playing to a crowd of weary Jam Cruisers and local South Floridians – all thirsty for the funk.

The Motet laid the groundwork for the evening with a 90-minute set chock full of originals, led by energetic front man and lead vocalist Lyle Divinsky. Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe’s set featured appearances by Ivan Neville of Dumpstaphunk, as well as a sit in by Motet keyboardist Joey Porter on the new KDTU joint, “So Real”. As the Tiny Universe set evolved, the band progressed into some choice covers and closed the show with an ethereal “Fearless” by Pink Floyd and a hopped up “Showbiz Kids” cover by Steely Dan.
