In September, Keller & The Keels—comprised of Keller Williams, Larry Keel, and Jenny Keel—announced their forthcoming studio album, Speed, due out on November 22nd.
The follow-up to Keller & The Keels’ 2012 Thief album, Speed features a blend of originals and covers including Fiona Apple‘s “Criminal”, Kacey Musgraves‘ “Slow Burning”, Weezer‘s “Island In The Sun”, and more.
Recently, the band shared a live performance video of “Medulla Oblongata”, which appears on the trio’s forthcoming album as a studio cut.
Premiered via Relix, Keller shared his thoughts on “Medulla Oblongata”. He explained that the track is “one of the many songs I’ve come up with from giving myself writing assignments. This one follows me through the blurred lines of hallucinations and apparitions with a bluegrass feel and a reggae break. Because bluegrass is just reggae sped up. Please enjoy.”
