Globe-trotting, genre-bending Houston, TX trio Khruangbin has released Live at Sydney Opera House, the fifth and final installment of its live album series. The double album, out today via Dead Oceans in partnership with Night Time Stories Ltd., documents the band’s three-night stint at the famed Australian architectural marvel in November 2022.
To herald the release of Live at Sydney Opera House, nugs.net will livestream Khruangbin’s full performance at the venue from November 27th, 2022. Exclusive for nugs.net subscribers, the stream will premiere here on Friday, December 1st at 8 p.m. ET and will be available to watch until December 18th, 2023. nugs.net is offering a complimentary stream code to anyone who pre-orders or has already pre-ordered the Live at Sydney Opera House album directly from Secretly Store. Those who have will receive the code via email from Secretly Store today. Though they’re off the road now, Khruangbin’s Mark Speer (guitar), Laura Lee (bass), and Donald “DJ” Johnson (drums) have been on countless global tours and graced nearly every major festival stage in the world including Glastonbury, Primavera, Coachella, and many more. The previous four installments in the 2023 Khruangbin live album series document the band’s landmark stops at Radio City Musical Hall in New York City with Nubya Garcia; RBC Echo Beach in Toronto, ON with Men I Trust; Stubb’s Bar-B-Q in Austin, TX with Kelly Doyle, Ruben Moreno, The Suffers, and Robert Ellis; and The Fillmore in Miami, FL with Toro y Moi. While the first four live albums were detailed ahead of time, Live at Sydney Opera House remained a surprise until its release.
