King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard returned to Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks on Wednesday their third marathon show at the famed natural amphitheater in the span of a month.
The two-set performance, which closed out the band’s lengthy North American tour, featured a sit-in from Leah Senior on “After Me III” and “Altered Beast IV” late in the show. The performance notably featured seven different songs from the prolific band’s tenth studio album, 2017’s Murder of the Universe, in addition to three each from 2013’s Float Along – Fill Your Lungs and 2019’s thrash metal-inspired Infest The Rats’ Nest.
As the band noted in a post on social media following the tour-closing Wednesday night performance, “It feels like a momentous achievement, as the tour was meant to happen over two years ago. We played 21 shows in 19 states and we want to thank all our crew/friends/family/house plants for their support along the way as it wouldn’t have been possible without them (especially our crew). And of course, we want to thank all our fans who made it to one of the shows, we know some of you travelled very far to see us or even came to multiple shows and for that we’re eternally grateful. Also last but not least thnx [Leah Senior] for playing wid us u 🤘.”
