King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have announced a mammoth 2022 tour that will take the Australian psych-rockers around the globe. These newly announced dates come in addition to the band’s North American tour dates that were pushed to next year in light of the pandemic.
The world tour begins on March 19th in South America with a slot at Lollapalooza Argentina before following up a week later at Lollapalooza Brazil on March 26th. The band has one more South American festival date with Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogotá, Columbia on March 27th.
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard then travels stateside beginning on April 17th with a show at Event Lawn at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. The spring tour kicks into gear with a run of shows through California, including stops in San Luis Obispo (4/24), Sonoma (4/26), and Petaluma (4/27) followed by an appearance at Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta, GA (4/30).
After a couple of weeks off, the tour picks back up in the Midwest with stops in Cleveland, OH (5/20); Columbus, OH (5/21); Millvale, PA (5/22); and Rochester, NY (5/24) ahead of a two-night run at Higher Ground in South Burlington, VT (5/25, 5/26). King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will play a lone U.S. date in June with a gig in Miami, FL on the 18th.
The band will then finish out the rest of spring and most of the summer in Europe and the U.K., beginning on May 31st with a two-night run in Athens, Greece. The European holiday will run through August 27th, ending with a stop in Málaga, Spain. King Gizzard will return to North America in early October to fulfill the band’s previously announced tour dates that were pushed to October 2022. These include three-hour marathon sets at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA (10/2) and two nights at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO (10/10, 10/11).
The band has made minor changes to its October schedule, including venue changes in Seattle and New York, as well as the addition of a date in New Orleans, LA (10/27). King Gizzard will see support on select dates by a variation Amyl and the Sniffers, SPELLLING, Dj Crenshaw, Leah Senior, The Murlocs, Leah Senior.
