King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will bring their acclaimed three-hour marathon sets back to the United States for the band’s first announced 2024 tour dates. The series of four coast-to-coast concerts will see the Australian psych-rock juggernauts play for three straight hours, exploring their endlessly expanding catalog.
The run begins on August 17th with the band’s return to Forest Hills Stadium in the Queens borough of New York City. Two weeks later, KGLW resurfaces at Chicago’s Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island, followed another fortnight later by a concert at The Gorge Amphitheatre in Quincy, WA. With a capacity of 21,600, the show will mark King Gizzard’s largest headlining concert to date. Finally, the run of King Gizzard & The Lizard marathon concerts ends a month later on November 15th in Austin, TX at Germania Insurance Amphitheater. Considering the wide gap between marathon shows, it would stand to reason that the band from the other side of the globe is planning a late summer/early fall tour of the U.S.
A pre-sale for the King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard 2024 marathon shows begins Wednesday, September 13th at 11 a.m. ET for the band’s Gizzymail subscribers. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, September 15th at 12 p.m. ET on the band’s website. The prolific recording outfit and live tour de force issued their 24th studio album, the thrash metal double LP PetroDragonic Apocalypse; Or, Dawn Of Eternal Night: An Annihilation Of Planet Earth And The Beginning Of Merciless Damnation, in June but have been suspiciously quiet since then as they wrapped up a lauded U.S. residency tour.
