Kitchen Dwellers went live on February 27th from The Wilma in Missoula, MT which saw the band debut their cover of Mac Miller Circles track, “Everybody”. The livestream show marked the Montana natives’ first time headlining the beloved Missoula theater.

On Tuesday, the band released pro-shot footage of “Everybody”, which flowed into the originals “Broken Cage” and “Ebeneezer’s Winter” to close the first set.

Beginning with a lone Torrin Daniels onstage, the cover immediately takes on the vulnerable nature that permeated the late rapper’s catalog. With his unique spin on Love‘s “Everybody’s Gotta Live”, Miller’s rendition of the song took on added meaning as it was included on his posthumous 2020 LP. While infusing the song with the band’s traditional bluegrass background, Kitchen Dwellers are able to show how Mac Miller’s far-reaching influence has stretched beyond genre boundaries.

The lyrical portion of “Everybody” gives way to a funky jam that sees the entire band break out from behind Daniels before hitting the reset button and moving back into original territory with “Broken Cage”. With Daniels’ banjo still draped in an electro-funk wah pedal, the band toggles back and forth between its traditional bluegrass roots and electrified leanings. Following a jam featuring continuous throttling of tension-and-release improvisation, the quartet makes one last segue with a deep-space “Ebeneezer’s Winter” that closed out set one.
