Denver’s Knew Conscious came alive Saturday night with a soul-refreshing, socially-distanced performance by Random Rab and Andrew Rothschild.

Having opened in early February, the art gallery and venue had to close its doors to in-person audiences amid the ongoing pandemic. While live audiences weren’t allowed, Knew Conscious created the safe space for musicians to play on its stages and jumpstarted their Alive From Knew Conscious partnered streaming series with FANS. Once Colorado regulations loosened to allow up to 100 people in an indoor setting, the venue now hosts weekly socially-distant concerts in its 8,000-square-foot space. Break Science, CloZee, Color Red All-Stars ft. Eddie Roberts, DJ Logic, Magic Beans, and Eminence Ensemble are just some of the artists the venue has hosted throughout the pandemic to allow live music to stay alive.

Denver-based producer Andrew Rothschild started off the night with an hour long set at 7:15 p.m. Equipped with its own in-house full light and laser rig, Knew Conscious lit up as Rothschild layed down his melodic soundscapes and bass as 50 lucky masked fans watched from their respective tables.

Originally booked as a stream-only show, Random Rab took to the stage just after 8:30 p.m. and shared a moment with the distant crowd on how special the evening was to him and everyone there to share in the experience. The multi-instrumentalist set a spiritually-sound tone for the remainder of the evening, as fans got lost in his soothing sonic explorations and bass compositions. All who attended left with a more grounded and relaxed mindset, knowing that live music will always be there, even if the world seems to be crumbling around us.
