DRKWAV is a band on a mission: to explore the sonic depths of darkness. The trio, comprised of drummer Adam Deitch, keyboardist John Medeski, and saxophonist Skerik, are set to release their debut album, The Purge, tomorrow, February 24th. We’re fortunate to have had the opportunity to chat with Skerik about the project, who retains a mysterious candidness about the band’s dark offering.
L4LM is excited to premiere the track “Count Chokulous,” prior to the album’s release. When asked about the title, Skerik simply confided that “Mr. Deitch received this title in a similar dream.” If the dream was anything similar to this song, perhaps dripping waves of funky atonal madness bombarded the accomplished drummer during his REM cycles.
