Lake Street Dive continued its Halloween covers tradition on Monday with a take on The Traveling Wilburys‘ “Handle With Care”. The classic rock radio staple follows a long line of Lake Street Dive Halloween covers including Hall & Oates, The Beatles, Queen, and more.
While for most bands tackling the supergroup to end all supergroups would be a daunting task, LSD has the roster to pull it off. The Boston-bred neo-soul group goes the extra mile by recreating the MTV-favorite music video, with Rachael Price as George Harrison, Akie Bermiss as Roy Orbison, Bridget Kearney as Tom Petty, James Cornelison as Jeff Lynne, and Mike Calabrese as Bob Dylan. Though the group’s vocal harmonies are certainly a focal point, Bermiss’ deadpan Roy Orbison delivery steals the show.
“It’s easy, being in our band, to notice the shining individuality of each member and their contribution to the overall chemistry that is Lake Street Dive,” the band said of the video. “Sometimes we feel like we’re in a supergroup! Well, that was the inspiration behind choosing The Traveling Wilburys for our Halloween video this year! Possibly the best supergroup of all time! Besides maybe the original Genesis lineup.
