The latest installment of eTown‘s Quarantine Sessions finds Lake Street Dive teaming up with Shakey Graves on a cover of The Beatles‘ “Two Of Us”. The collaborative take on the Let It Be classic was shared on Wednesday by the Boulder, CO multi-media outfit.

In the video, Lake Street Dive frontwoman Rachael Price and the singer-songwriter born Alejandro Rose-Garcia split vocal duties while the unseen members of the band provide offscreen instrumentation. From the very first notes, the artists make this a unique retelling of the John Lennon/Paul McCartney collaboration with an electrified, piano-tinged take on the iconic opening notes.

Unfortunately, the jovial nature of Lake Street Dive and Shakey Grave’s cover was overshadowed this week by the horrific events in eTown’s home of Boulder, CO where a gunman murdered 10 people in a grocery store. One of the victims, Suzanne Fountain, was a longtime member of the eTown community who served as house manager at eTown Hall.

“An otherwise very happy return to eTown has been darkened significantly by the horrible mass shooting in Boulder on Monday,” Shakey Graves posted on Facebook along with the video. “I was deeply saddened to find out that long time eTown family member Suzanne Fountain was one of the victims of this tragedy. My heart goes out to Suzanne’s family and to all those affected by this. Big love to you Boulder.”
