The Nashville-based sister duo Larkin Poe has released a new music video for “Mississippi”, a track off the band’s self-produced—and Grammy-nominated—2018 studio album, Venom & Faith. Additionally, the roots-rock outfit fronted by Rebecca Lovell and Megan Lovell announced plans for a lengthy world tour scheduled throughout much of 2020.

The video for “Mississippi” was shot in a Nashville laundromat by Andy Snyder and Sean O’Halloran, and fully embodies the spirit of southern blues-rock. Bright slide guitar licks breakthrough the anthem’s steadily thumping rhythm section while accented by lyrics containing deep southern blues themes.

In a statement, Rebecca Lovell describes the inspiration and meaning behind “Mississipi” in saying, “When you boil it down, ‘Mississippi’ is a love letter to the musical heritage of the southern United States. As sisters born in Tennessee and raised in Georgia, American Roots and Blues music is the currency of our soul and Megan and I want our songs to express that connection.”
