Lawrence has officially set a due date for their highly-anticipated sophomore album, Living Room. The new LP, a follow-up to the hot up-and-coming band’s 2016’s acclaimed Breakfast, will arrive on September 14th.

Co-produced by the band’s brother-and-sister core of Clyde and Gracie Lawrence, fellow band members Jordan Cohen (tenor/baritone sax) and Johnny Koh (guitar), and Eli Crews, the new album “chronicles the life of two kids growing up, coping with breakups, make-ups, family loss and finding harmony between excitement, anxiety, melancholy, and empowerment.”

According to a quote from the band in the album announcement press release,

We wrote Living Room over the course of the past two years in our family’s living room. It’s important to us that when you hear the songs we write, you feel like you are getting to know us as people. In short, this album is about growing up, and everything that comes with it.  So each song is a little window into a moment in our lives, whether that be a fight we had with a loved one, a night of insomnia, or a bite of spicy food that we weren’t prepared for.

Clyde Lawrence, 24 and Gracie Lawrence, 21, have been writing songs and listening to countless Stevie Wonder, Randy Newman, and Aretha Franklin records together in the living room of their family’s New York City apartment since they were little kids. After years of playing together, they officially created Lawrence, an eight-piece soul-pop band comprised of musicians who happen to be their best friends from childhood and college.

To preview their forthcoming release, Lawrence has confirmed select headlining dates to add to their “The New Stuff Tour,” including stops at Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn, NY, Los Angeles’ Teragram Ballroom, San Francisco’s The Independent, Chicago’s Lincoln Hall, and more.
