In 2016, LCD Soundsystem made a triumphant return after a several-year-long hiatus. In 2017, they released their fourth LP, American Dream, which came seven years after their last full-length album, This Is Happening, and six years after their breakup. American Dream was the band’s first album to enter the U.S. Chart at #1, and was one of the best-reviewed records of 2018, finishing the year on numerous “Top 10” lists. American Dream single “tonite” went on to take home the award for “Best Dance Recording” at the 60th Annual GRAMMY Awards.

Today, LCD Soundsystem has released two new live recordings from a recent Spotify Singles session at the storied Electric Lady Studios in New York City. James Murphy and company delivered outstanding versions of American Dream‘s “tonite” and This Is Happening‘s “home”, tacking on a cover of Chic‘s “I Want Your Love” to the end of the latter—a song pairing they often utilize at their live shows.
