Ready to buy yourself a stairway to heaven? Starting June 3rd you can purchase the reissuance of Led Zeppelin’s first three albums as a delux edition package with a bonus disc of previously unreleased studio and live tracks. This is the first taste of an “extensive reissuance program” of all nine of the band’s studio albums which have been remastered by guitarist Jimmy Page.

This is the first remastering of the albums in twenty years. Jimmy announced his plans in November of 2012, in an effort to improve the quality of sound on new technology. Jimmy stated, “That’s one of the problems with the Zeppelin stuff. It sounds ridiculous on MP3. You can’t hear what’s there properly.”

The reissuance will be available in a variety of formats, including a “Super Delux Boxed Set” that will include a hard-bound book of rare and unseen photos and a replica of the band’s original Atlantic press kit.

The reissuance even includes vocals by bassist John Paul Jones. Of what we can expect, Jimmy said,

“The material on the companion discs presents a portal to the time of the recording of Led Zeppelin. It is a selection of work in progress with rough mixes, backing tracks, alternate versions and new material recorded at the time.”
