On December 3rd, Led Zeppelin will appear on The Late Show with David Letterman. As both the surviving members of Zep (John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant) and Letterman will be receiving Kennedy Center Honors this year, the show is set to be taped in Washington D.C on Dec. 2nd. The 35th Annual Kennedy Center Honors is set to air on Dec. 26th.
As to whether or not the members of Led Zeppelin will play at the Honors or on Letterman is anybody’s guess. They have appeared together several times to support their new film Celebration Day, but have yet to hit the place where they truly belong together – that place being the stage.
From all accounts in recent history, it seems that Page and Jones are on board to play once again as Led Zeppelin, but Plant has been the seemingly obstinate one in the group (though, who knows, maybe he has his reasons). For fans, the chance to see these guys hit the stage for a real deal tour would be a dream come true. They haven’t played since their all-too-brief reunion in 2007 at London’s O2 Arena. Keep your fingers crossed, but don’t get your hopes up.
