For an exclusive peek into Les Claypool and Bryan Kehoe’s twangified world, Duo de Twang has confirmed a secret show in Brooklyn this Thursday, February 27th.
Sponsored by BrooklynVegan, the taste making music site will reveal the show’s location on Thursday morning and will be live streaming the performance via TourGigs.com. This intimate performance will accompany the band’s two previously announced New York appearances on 2/26 and 2/27 at The Heath in the McKittrick Hotel, infamous home of Sleep No More.
Upon listening to Duo de Twang’s new album Four Foot Shack (released 2/4) you’ll quickly discover that Les and Bryan made it a point to keep things as live-sounding as humanly possible. “It was very live,” admits Les. “In fact, it was a little difficult, with all the bleed of the stomping and the bass and the vocals. Every now and again you can hear the studio refrigerator come on or the dog barking at something outside in the background. Once it was there, you had to kind of leave it.”
