In 2004, longtime Disco Biscuits fans were shocked when founding drummer Sam Altman left the band. The parting was amicable, as Altman left to pursue a career in medicine, but the departure left the group without someone keeping time. Just one year later, after a lengthy search, the band revealed that Berklee-graduate Allen Aucoin would be taking over the drumming duties. Aucoin had played with the band intermittently and confirmed his role behind the skins in late 2005. It was 17 years ago today that Aucoin played his first, full-length show with the Biscuits, and he hasn’t looked back since!
