Little Kids Rock has announced the virtual 2021 edition of the annual benefit show featuring performances from Carlos Santana, James Hetfield (Metallica), Jack Black, Warren Haynes, and many more. The streaming event airs on April 14th beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
The annual Little Kids Rock benefit concert raises money and awareness for the organization that advocates for the expansion and inclusion of music programs in schools across the country. Reaching over 400 school districts in 48 states, LKR has been able to provide music education to over one million children. This year’s virtual event will feature “students and teachers from across the U.S. alongside an array of musical luminaries.”
The livestream will also host performances from Todd Rundgren, Yo-Yo Ma, Brian Hardgroove (Public Enemy), comedian and musician Craig Robinson, Kix Brooks (Brooks & Dunn), Carlos Santana’s drummer and wife, Cindy Blackman Santana, and more. Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins (TLC) will serve as host for the event.
Last week, Little Kids Rock made a special announcement regarding Hetfield’s return to the benefit. In 2013, the Metallica frontman participated in LKR’s Rockin’ the Bay Benefit alongside other Bay Area notables including Chris Isaak, Moonalice, and more.
Longtime friend of Little Kids Rock, James Hetfield of Metallica joins the star-studded lineup at this year’s Benefit! You won’t want to miss hearing Mr. Hetfield’s advocacy for music education and the epic moments from past events when he shared a stage with Little Kids Rock students! We’re ready for an amazing event—are you?!
Tune into the virtual edition of the Little Kids Rock benefit concert on April 14th at 8 p.m. ET. Tickets for the stream are free, with VIP options also available.
