Individual show concert tickets may become a thing of the past, as promoter behemoth Live Nation announced on Friday that the company will be offering concert goers with a seasonal pass that will grant fans GA entry to events throughout the year. Titled the “Live Nation Lawn Pass,” the unique, first-of-its-kind offer within major American concert venues will give fans guaranteed entry to the GA Lawn sections at the venue of their choice at no exra cost, even if the show at a specific venue is listed at sold out. Fans can pick from 29 amphitheaters nationwide when purchasing their “Live Nation Lawn Pass.”
Select music venues across the country including Camden, New Jersey’s BB&T Pavilion, Irving, Texas’ Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory, and many more will begin offering fans the chance to purchase the new Lawn Passes beginning this Tuesday, December 4th at 1 p.m. ET. The passes will remain active throughout the calendar year. The cost of the passes will range in price starting at $99 and going all the way up to $399 depending on which venue fans select. The passes will only allow holders into the specified events sold on LiveNation.com, and won’t work for festivals or any other third party promoter event, even if it happens to take place at the specific venue. This is apparently a limited offer, as only a certain amount of passes will be issued per venue in 2019. Inquiring purchasers only have until December 18th to purchase a pass, which will be shipped out by February 1st.
Live Nation had also announced earlier this year that they would be expanding their “Festival Passport” program, which provides festival junkies with access to 100+ music festivals around the world for a fixed price of $999. That announcement also came just weeks after it was reported by the New York Times that the United States Justice Department would be investigating the promoter for potential anti-trust violations in pressuring venues into contracting with its subsidiary, Ticketmaster.
Fans who purchase the 2019 Lawn Pass will likely need to show their proof of I.D. when using the pass to enter the venue, and will not have access to Reserved Lawn or VIP areas. Any music lover interested in purchasing the 2019 pass can head over to lawnpass.livenation.com and utilize the drop-down menu to select their desired venue. The participating Live Nation venues for 2019 can be referenced in the listing below.
