Adding to an already exceptional lineup of rock musicians, second-year musical gathering, Lockn’ Festival, has added yet even more amazing artists, as well as special artist collaborations unique to the festival! Added to Thursday’s lineup is NOLA classic, DUMPSTAPHUNK, as well as “multi-instrumentalist and vocalist” Taj Mahal Acoustic. Both will play late-night sets on the After-Show Triangle and the Shakedown Stage, respectively. Many L4LM fans may know DUMPSTAPHUNK from when they opened for Lionel Richie back in September, or from the myriad afterparties we’ve thrown with them! Also included in the artist additions is TAUK, an “NYC dirty funk-4-piece”, who will also be peforming at Catskill Chill Music Festival, as well as Bear Creek Music Festival. TAUK will take the stage during Friday’s lineup.
Two very special sets, exclusive to Lockn’ Festival, have also been added. On Thursday, attendees will experience a special treat, known as “String Cheese & the Gang”, a String Cheese Incident tribute set to Kool and the Gang, featuring former Kool and the Gang member, JF Taylor, along with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. On Friday, husband/wife musical maestros Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks will play an intimate acoustic set on the After-Show Triangle. I can only imagine how memorable this performance will be, seeing as how magically they work together in their own group, Tedeschi Trucks Band.
