Earlier this year, LOCKN’ impressed jam fans with a stacked lineup, featuring headlining sets from Phish, Ween and My Morning Jacket. The festival had promised lineup additions, and today they’ve delivered on that promise, adding a handful of artists to their 2016 lineup.

The additions include EOTO, Hard Working Americans, Moon Taxi, Donna the Buffalo, Doobie Decibel System, Circles Around The Sun and Garcia’s Forest. Nice!

The added bands feature a number of members from some of the major jam bands in the scene, including String Cheese percussionists in EOTO, Widespread Panic members in Hard Working Americans, and Chris Robinson Brotherhood guitarist Neal Casal in both HWA and Circles Around The Sun. This will also be the first live performance for Circles Around The Sun, the group that composed the music for setbreaks at Fare Thee Well.

One puzzling entry is Garcia’s Forest, a band that seemingly has no back story. Obviously a reference to Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia, it’s unclear what this band will entail.

In a recent interview with L4LM, festival founder Peter Shapiro spoke about the uniqueness that LOCKN’ brings to the table. “If you look at the other major festivals – and they’re great festivals, I’ve been to all of them and I love them – but if you took the name off the major festivals, and just looked at the lineups, it would be difficult to tell which one was which. I don’t think you’d be able to name which one was Outside Lands, which one was Lollapalooza, which one was ACL, which one was Bonnaroo, but you could identify LOCKN’.” Read more here.

The festival also promises additional artists to be added, so be sure to check back for more updates!
