LOCKN’ lineup announcements continued this afternoon, as the festival has officially added a very special funky set by Foundation of Funk: Celebrating 50 Years Of The Meters. Fresh off receiving their Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award last month, original The Meters members George Porter Jr. and Zigaboo Modeliste will use Foundation of Funk—the duo’s most recent project featuring a rotating cast of all-star musicians—to give love to the origins of funk music with help from some of the music scene’s brightest stars. The group will hit the festival’s Main Stage on Saturday, August 25th, at 3:30 p.m.

While original keyboardist Art Neville is no longer playing these days, the Neville family will be thoroughly represented, as Art’s brother, Cyril Neville, son, Ian Neville, and nephew, Ivan Neville will all join the party, in addition to Ian and Ivan’s Dumpstaphunk bandmate, Tony Hall.

The special “Foundation of Funk: Celebrating 50 Years Of The Meters” set joins previously-announced artists Dead & Company (four sets over two days), Umphrey’s McGee (three sets over two days), Tedeschi Trucks Band (two sets over two days), Widespread PanicJoe Russo’s Almost Dead (two sets over two days) Sheryl Crow, TurkuazLettuce (three sets over two days, including a tribute to Jerry Garcia Band), George Clinton & P-FunkToots & The MaytalsBlues TravelerMoon Taxi, Spafford, Keller Williams’ Grateful GospelLukas Nelson & Promise Of The RealPigeons Playing Ping PongThe Suffers, and Ghost Light.
