Singer-songwriter Lyle Divinsky has shared his second single of 2023, “Your Stars”. The new track follows “Falling By The Wayside” as the second song released from Divinsky’s forthcoming 2023 LP, Seasons.

The track’s ethereal, atmospheric sonics and indie-rock sensibilities provide a pensive backdrop for Divinsky’s searing vocal performance, which sticks the landing on the unguarded line between tragically beautiful and beautifully hopeful.

“It’s a song about the last moments with someone,”  Divinsky explained of “Your Stars” to Live For Live Music. “It could be forever or for a time. You know that goodbye is about to happen, but you want to savor every second together, not focus on the inevitable parting.”

In addition to Divisnky on vocals and acoustic guitar, “Your Stars” features drums by Derrek C Phillips (Gloria Gaynor, Michael McDonald, Charlie Hunter Trio, McCrary Sisters), Rhodes/organ by Dane Farnsworth (Keb’ Mo’, Marcus King, Brothers Osborne, Allen Stone, Robert Randolph, Marc Broussard) electric guitar by Adam Agati (Ludacris, Cory Henry, Lalah Hathaway) and bass by Bryan Ladd (Lisa Lisa, Progger).

Once per month throughout 2023, Divinsky is due to share a new track. As the year progresses, those tracks will take the shape of four distinct “chapters” highlighting the varied sensibilities that make up his creative voice. Together, the four chapters—or Seasons—will serve as four parts of the same whole. As Lyle explained of the concept, “The world around us looks different in every season, but is still the same world.”

Much like the personal themes explored on the four-part album, Divinsky’s career has been marked by distinct seasons. For five years, he made his living singing in New York City subways while he slowly crafted Uneven Floors. The album instantly created traction on a global scale, peaking at #2 on the U.K. Soul Charts and garnering radio play on four continents. His singer-songwriter journey took a detour during a five-year stint writing, recording, and touring as the lead singer of beloved Colorado funk outfit The Motet. Seasons marks Lyle Divinsky’s return to the journey he started with Uneven Floors back in 2015.

Lyle Divinsky – “Your Stars” – Lyrics

I don’t want to mourn you before you’re gone
So kiss me while you’re here
As you’re lying in my arms
Let time disappear

I know in the morning that
I’ma be alone again
I won’t let a moment slip away

The glitter on your skin
It’s the stars in my hands
Your universe is endless
Let me explore it once again

The way that your eyes roll back
As I etch my love onto your neck
You won’t let a moment slip away

I don’t want to say goodbye
When you’re far, look to the sky
Cause the stars in that expanse
Are your stars in my hands
Holding you forever
Til the time when we’re together again

Dancing in the living room
Holding you one last time
Donny sings “A Song for You”
I love you, for my life

But we know in the morning that
We gone be alone again
We don’t let a moment slip away

No, I don’t want to say goodbye
When you’re far, look to the sky
Cause the stars in that expanse
Are your stars in my hands
Holding you forever
Til the time when we’re together

Oh, I don’t want to say goodbye
When you’re far, look to the sky
Cause the stars in that expanse
Are your stars in my hands
Holding you forever
They’re holding you forever
They’re holding you forever
Til the time when we’re together again
