Bestival, one of the world’s most premiere music festivals, taking place annually in Isle of Wight, UK, has announced that they will take a second home in Toronto, June 12-13, 2015. The festival will take place on Hanlan’s Point Beach in the Toronto Islands, and be presented by SFX and Embrace.

Festival curator Rob da Bank hinted at the move this past summer, though no details had been confirmed at that time.

Bestival UK has won multiple awards and featured impressive headliners such as Stevie Wonder, Florence & The Machine, The Cure, and Kraftwerk. The festival spans a multitude of genres.

Da Bank said in a statement:

“We have waited 12 years to decide to launch another Bestival outside of the U.K. and our beloved Bestival, on the Isle of Wight, which has grown into one of the most important festivals in the global calendar.  It took a really special city, and an even more exciting site, with Toronto and Toronto Island, to make us take the leap. So, the waiting is over and we are so excited to be launching in North America in June, with a classic Bestival line-up waiting to thrill, intrigue and party! I’d like to thank all our partners, friends, new and old, and supporters in Toronto, for making this happen. We cannot wait!”

The original UK edition of the fest will take place September 10-13, and feature talent from The Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Duran Duran, Tame Impala and many more.
