Marco Benevento was back in the New York Metro Area on Friday night for a show in front of his hometown fans at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City, NJ. Following his multiple performances throughout New Orleans as part of the city’s ongoing Jazz Fest 50th Anniversary celebrations last weekend, the always-entertaining pianist and his backing band of bassist Karina Rykman and drummer Andy Borger returned to their home base to get their fans dancing into the weekend.

Marco and company were in their trademark all-white stage outfits with sparkling jackets on this night–a mood-boosting contrast to the gloomy weather hovering over the NYC region this weekend. Benevento, whose outfit also includes a beaten tophat, couldn’t be held to his piano bench as he freely exercised his bandleader abilities in full stride around the stage as he’s also known to do throughout his shows. The band’s setlist from Friday’s show included “Dropkick”, from his 2016 The Story of Fred Short LP. Fans can watch the band’s performance of the song from last night in the video below.
