In mid-August, the Marcus King Band announced a new album, Carolina Confessions, due out on October 5th via Fantasy Records. Produced by Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson), the new album showcases the 22-year-old frontman’s maturation as a songwriter, as King takes writing credit on all ten tracks, in addition to on one co-written with The Black Keys‘ Dan Auerbach.
Recently, the Marcus King Band performed a segment for Jam In The Van, traveling to the fan-favorite mobile studio’s regular home in Los Angeles, CA for an intimate recording session. During the performance, the Marcus King Band performed two of the new album’s singles, “Homesick” and “Welcome ‘Round Here”, which were previously debuted on NPR’s World Cafe. The band also performed the tune “Where I’m Headed”, which was released in early September.
