The Marcus King Band and Eric Krasno Band have been on a tear of late, packing out venues across the northeast on their double-bill tour. With two guitar virtuosos (Krasno and King) and a host of other talented musicians in tow, expectations for incredible collaborations have been high at each stop on the 10-show run. As they continue to play to sellout crowds, these expectations have been fulfilled in spades–from collaborative covers of The Allman Brothers and The Grateful Dead, to mutual sit-ins by the two bands’ namesakes.

Last week, at Washington D.C.’s The Hamilton, The Marcus King Band put on a fiery performance to open the evening, delivering cuts from their self-titled 2016 LP and more with gusto. The band welcomed saxophonist Ron Holloway for “Dave’s Apparition (Part 2),” the instrumental paired, as usual, with the wistful “Rita Is Gone” before Krasno and his keyboardist Deshawn Alexander joined the party for a roaring take on King’s southern romp “Plant Your Corn Early.” Thanks to taper Alex Leary on archive.org, you can listen to The Marcus King Band’s full performance at The Hamilton below:
