Marcus King on Thursday shared “Lie Lie Lie”, the latest single from his forthcoming homage to classic rock, Young Blood. King’s second solo album, and his second produced with Dan Auerbach at Easy Eye Sound, arrives on August 27th via Rick Rubin‘s American Records/Republic Records.

King’s latest single arrives like a breath of fresh Southern summer air. Whereas the previous Young Blood singles “Hard Working Man” and “Rescue Me” were bogged down in the bluesman trying to emulate others, King’s voice shines through on “Lie Lie Lie”. The in-studio performance goes even further to prove that the 26-year-old is still a live force to be reckoned with as he plays alongside Nick Movshon on bass and Chris St. Hilaire on drums in a classic power-trio setup.

“‘Lie Lie Lie’ for me captures the spirit of the record,” King said of the new single. “You can feel how natural the vibe was in the studio. At the two-and-a-half-minute mark the band locks into a groove that becomes a sonic representation of why I do what I do! I live for that feeling.”
