This Mardi Gras the Howlin’ Wolf is the place to be. What a lineup — and it’s (mostly) FREE! All shows begin after the parades and are 21+.
On Friday, Feb. 13th and Saturday, Feb. 14th, we’ve got the Grammy Award-Winning Rebirth Brass Band bringing that heavy funk. No better way to end your day of parading around the streets of NOLA than with one of the most emblematic New Orleans brass acts out there right now. Funky acid-jazz collective Naughty Professor will be joining them on the 14th. These shows are completely FREE!
Sunday also features a FREE show from New Orleans favorite Dumpstaphunk who always throw down hard and will keep the party going properly into the wee hours of the morning, NOLA-style. They were deemed the “best funk band from New Orleans right now” by the New York Times, so you know they do it right. Hot 8 Brass Band will be throwing it down in the Den.
Monday isn’t quite so free but oh, so worth it! Head over to the Howlin’ Wolf for Cha Dooky Do and the Zing Zing Horns: The music of Art Neville, featuring Art Neville himself, Cyril Neville, Ian Neville and more! This family affair is made up of New Orleans legends and undoubtedly a special and memorable Lundi Gras event. Get tickets here.
