Matt & Kim brought their GRAND – 10 Year Celebration Tour to a close in New York City last night with a thrilling and celebratory performance at Brooklyn Steel. The band’s Monday night gig was the last on a run of shows in celebration of the 10th anniversary of their 2009 studio album, Grand.
The first half of the show saw the band deliver the song’s from Grand, though not in direct order of the original album’s tracklist. “Daylight” started the show, followed by “I Wanna”, “Lessons Learned”, “Cutdown”, “Spare Change”, and “Turn This Boat Around”, to name a few. The set included an on-stage proposal between friends of the band in addition to a slideshow featuring images from the making of Grand way back then.

The second set of the night saw the band deliver a mix of tunes from the rest of their catalog including “Hey Now”, “Silver Tiles”, “Block After Block”, and a cover of DMX‘s “Party Up”. Following a quick rest, the band returned to the stage to close the show with “Happy If You’re Happy”, their take on Biz Markie‘s “Just a Friend”, and “Let’s Go”.
