The Meadows Music And Arts Festival will not be returning to Citi Field in Queens, New York, in 2018, according to an announcement from Founders Entertainment. From the organizers of Governors Ball, the two-year event has brought together the likes of Kanye West, The Weeknd, Chance the Rapper, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, Cage the Elephant, and Kamasi Washington for its inaugural year in 2016, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jay Z, Run The Jewels, Gorillaz, Erykah Badu, Big Gigantic, De La Soul, TV On The Radio, Nas, Bassnectar, Weezer, and more in 2017.
In Friday’s announcement, Founders Entertainment expressed their hopes to move from Queens’ Citi Field to the Flushing Meadows Corona Park–though this plan was not achievable in 2018, and they are looking to make the official change in location in 2019.

After careful consideration, we have decided to take 2018 off and focus our efforts on returning in 2019. Our goal from day one has been to create a marquee, multi-day, fall music festival in Queens. After two great years at Citi Field, we were excited to shift our venue focus entirely to Flushing Meadows Corona Park – the location we always hoped to move to in year 3. However, after review of our application by NYC Parks, we were not able to obtain a workable multi-day permit for a 2018 festival in the park. Our sights are set on The Meadows in 2019, and we look forward to working together with all city partners and agencies.
