Recently, The Wood Brothers were forced to postpone and cancel a series of performances, with an unknown health issue plaguing one of its members. Today, Medeski Martin & Wood have followed suit, postponing a planned run of performances in New York, NY due to the hospitalization of bassist Chris Wood.

Wood, a member of both bands, was hospitalized on tour with an intestinal blockage. He underwent surgery just last week, and, while the operation was successful, it means that the MMW shows will not happening as planned.

The three night run at Le Poisson Rouge in New York, NY was scheduled for this week, October 18-20, but will now be rescheduled to January 16-18, 2017. The shows were meant to celebrate the band’s 25th anniversary, as they formed in 1991 in New York City.

We wish Chris Wood all the best on his road to recovery. You can see the band’s full statement below.
