2016 was one of the most upsetting years on record, as we lost so many amazing artists over the course of twelve months. Of course, New Orleans is the perfect place to pay tribute to these artists, and Jazz Fest is the perfect time. As part of this year’s Late-Nite After Jazz Fest Series at The Howlin’ Wolf, members of Turkuaz and The Motet will team up for a special “Fu*k 2016: A Funky Tribute To Musicians We Lost” on Sunday, April 30th. As support to the Tribute, RumpleSTEELskin with members of The Revivalists will open up the evening, and The London Souls will close the night out..

The “Fu*k 2016” tribute will explore the musical gifts of all the amazing artists we lost last year, such as PrinceDavid BowieGeorge MichaelMaurice White, Leonard Cohen, Bernie WorrellPhife Dawg, and the list goes on. While we’re glad the year is over, it’s time to look back and celebrate these wonderful artists.

Craig Brodhead, Shira Elias, and Michelangelo Carubba of Turkuaz will collaborate with Joey Porter, Garrett Sayers, and Lyle Divinsky of The Motet to perform what is sure to be an incredibly funky tribute to the iconic musicians that left us last year. Special guests Khris Royal, Maurice “Mobetta” Brown, Steveland Swatkins, D.J. Williams and Danny Mayer will also be on hand for the very special night.

Tickets for this special late-night performance are on sale right here.
